As a non-EU national, how do I start a business in the Netherlands?

Are you an ambitious starter from outside the European Union and do you have plans to start an innovative company in the Netherlands? The Residence Permit Scheme for foreign start-ups gives you the opportunity to apply for a temporary residence permit in the Netherlands. This residence permit gives you 1 year to start your business in the Netherlands.

Conditions

Several conditions apply in order to make use of this arrangement. One of those conditions is that you work together with a reliable supervisor (facilitator) in the Netherlands. To know more about the conditions, get in touch with  Nyāsa.

Action Plan Ambitious Entrepreneurship

The Dutch government wants to provide ambitious entrepreneurs and start-up entrepreneurs with growth ambitions an opportunity to grow quickly. To achieve this, it is important that the foreign entrepreneurs have better access to capital, knowledge, innovation, each other, and the world market.

How to apply

You can submit your application for a residence permit as a ‘start-up’ to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND). An authorized representative from Nyāsa can also do this for you. Read more about the application procedure.

Moving on to the self-employment scheme

After 1 year you can renew your permit under the scheme for self-employed persons. To know more about the Self-Employed Scheme, get in touch with  Nyāsa.
