Overview

Conflict Management Training encourages creative problem solving and opens up dialogue between the disputants so that they can find mutually acceptable solutions. It prevents conflicts but also reduces the time and resources required to resolve the disputes that have already occurred and decreases the potential for prolonged conflicts. Additionally, the training strengthens communication, understanding, and empathy among people which may foster longer-term reconciliation and collaboration. It sets the stage for improved future interactions between and leads to the establishment of trust and respect.

The training includes exercises to identify potential conflicts and triggers, managing emotions, asserting needs and desires, developing solutions collaboratively, understanding group dynamics, and resolving conflicts with compromise, respect and compromise. It provides strategies to evaluate potential conflicts and to determine when to seek outside help.
